Generalist software engineer working across the stack — as at home in data and back-end services as in the interface a user actually touches.

// about

I trained as a Chemical Engineer and ended up writing the software instead — now I’m a generalist who likes the whole stack literally, from the database and back-end services to the pixels the user actually touches. I care less about any one layer than about how they fit together into something that ships and holds up: I’m as comfortable modelling data or wiring up an API as I am refining a layout.

Currently I’m a software / security engineer at Nanolumi, where I work across the stack and the things that protect it. Off the clock I’m usually over-thinking a cup of tea, coffee, or something stronger — otherwise reading, somewhere new, or on a court chasing shuttlecocks with more enthusiasm than technique.
